They went out of their way. We ordered breakfas. Friendly. Fast. Great service. Big menu. Lots of options. Thank you to the staff at his resturant. Especially after the terrible service at Hermans. I will tell everyone about this place
Issue with Family pizza I have is the service, the food is good not great not poor just good it's nothing you will remember or keep you coming back. For a single person a meal with tip is 15-20$ of course depending, their seafood will run you 20$ off the bat. But comes down to service there is 1 good waitress in the bunch I have seen that is on point with her work ie checks on you time to time make sure drinks are good. Others though good luck hope that 1 coke lasts you a meal. As I said there is one waitress that is great and not a single complaint others toss the check plate on the table or just drop the togo boxes on the table and walk away. So all in all the place is a hit or miss.
All in all a good choice for a good meal.
A few times we have stopped and every time I wonder why we don't stop more often.
The price was reasonable, plenty of parking, and a courteous staff. The bathrooms were clean and the food was good.
We pass this restaurant often and rarely stop... largely because we are passing it on our way to and from my parent's home.
They used to be a nice family place with beautiful paintings adorning the walls, but now it's all beer advertisements. The food isn't great, very cheap tasting, but you get charged the price of fine dining. Sure the portions are sizable, but you don't really want more of this stuff. The dessert is by far the most over-priced. My friends actually think I'm joking when I tell them a thin slice of cake here is $10.00. Then their eyes nearly pop out of their heads when they get the bill. Colchester is an area bountiful in pizzerias/restaurants. There are better choices in the area.
The entire staff is really friendly, and the food is worth the half hour ride for us to enjoy.
I ordered some really great grinders to go one day, and I showed up a little before the order was done. The restaurant owner gave me a drink on the house while I waited for the order, and we had a really nice conversation.
The waitress treated us like family and was attentive and courteous. The menu is pretty standard fare and we went for steak and cheese sandwich (me) and a Reuben for my sweetheart. My Bride went for onion rings and I opted for fries. The sandwiches were hot, tasty, and made to order. The sides were generous...the stack of fries and rings was impressive. The rings were much better than the thick steak style fries. There was enough to box up for the next day.
This is very much a family style restaurant. When we stopped on the night before Thanksgiving, the place was doing a fairly brisk business. A crew of high school kids, a few families with some kids of all ages, a bunch of regulars, and us.
